ProgramsYouth Empowerment Skills (YES!) WorkshopThe Youth Empowerment Skills (YES!) Workshop is an innovative and dynamic program that provides teens with powerful tools to manage stress and emotions, develop meaningful relationships, cultivate leadership skills, and imbibe such universal human values as friendliness, non-violence, responsibility and concern for humanity. The program empowers students to navigate through personal and academic challenges of school and beyond. Students learn specialised techniques known to promote physical, mental and emotional well being while increasing mental clarity and energy levels. Knowledge and life skills are taught through games and interactive group processes that bring this understanding into sharp focus. The course is both fun and challenging, broadening their vision of the world and providing them with the practical knowledge and skills they need to realize their highest potential. The YES! Workshop has been offered around the world, including North America, as an after school program or as part of regular school curriculum. OverviewThe YES! Workshop is presented by specially-trained teachers, using techniques offered only through the Youth Empowerment Canada and Art of Living Foundation. The YES! Workshop provides tools for releasing stress through unique relaxation & breathing exercises, effective problem-solving strategies, leadership and social skills, and advanced techniques for conflict resolution. The breathing techniques taught in the workshop relieve anxiety and depression and also promote health at all levels. Once learned, the student may implement these techniques in any setting to bring about a state of calm and relaxation. The workshop includes experiential processes designed to foster increased confidence and inner strength needed to better handle criticism and peer pressure. Students are empowered to take more responsibility and further develop an attitude of service toward others and caring for the planet through volunteer projects. Special emphasis is placed on the development of human values such as non-violence, compassion, kindness, friendliness, and an attitude of service toward others. Through discussions, games, exercises and stories students learn important skills they can use for the rest of their lives. Benefits
